Description
This is one of the most charming little vintage purses that I have ever seen. It is the absolute perfect accessory for an evening out, wedding, or any special occasion. It exudes a quiet, timeless elegance.
The designer, GARAY, created this uniquely shaped evening bag. The construction of this purse is of amazing quality. The textured satiny fabric is soft and lush. The bag has a luxurious richness to the touch, and is softly gathered into the gold tone metal frame, and drops down into gathered folds that are sewn into a round fabric bottom section.
It has a chain strap that measures 11 ¾ inches from end to end, which is attached to the metal frame. The Art Deco-inspired design of the gold tone metal clasp accents the classic elegance of this bag.
The quality of this vintage treasure continues inside the purse, which features lush, black satin lining. This same rich satin fabric was used to create the small coin purse that is attached with a delicate gold chain to the inside. This coin purse has a kissing clasp closure. The creativity and detail that went into this purse is exemplified by the built-in lipstick holder, as shown in the photos. There is no staining, discoloration, holes or tears inside the bag.
The sewn-in tag says: GARAY, and was most likely made in the USA. I believe it was made in the 1920s or 1930s.

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. All the stitching and fabric remain in excellent vintage condition. The gold tone metal closure works well. There are no rips or tears on the exterior of the purse. The interior coin purse is in excellent condition; the closure works well and the satin fabric is lovely. The purse has no odors. The only thing to note is that there is some signs of wear on the gold metal frame of the purse and the coin purse. The gold tone metal clasp has faint scuff marks on it. None of these issues are readily apparent, and are reflected in the price of this purse. This is a vintage item, and has been gently used and could be over 80 years old at this point. I have done my best to describe the item, but it is possible that a small defect could have escaped my notice. Please look at the photos, as they will give you a good idea of the overall condition of this lovely vintage item.
