Description

This is a cuddly fleece blanket, crafted with the image from a vintage sheet music cover from my collection, “Ziegfeld Follies of 1927.” The Follies were a series of elaborate theatrical revue productions on Broadway in New York City from 1907 through 1931, with renewals in 1934 and 1936. The were inspired by the Folies Bergère of Paris, and the Ziegfeld Follies were conceived and mounted by Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. They became a radio program in 1932 and 1936 as The Ziegfeld Follies of the Air. This is a blanket created using the image from the original sheet music cover, “Ooh, Maybe It’s You,” from the Ziegfeld Follies of 1927. This cover features the iconic image of a lovely Art Deco illustration of a Gatsby, Flapper-style woman dressed up for a party. Included in the photos is an image of the original sheet music cover for you to see. The blanket is just beautiful! The Ziegfeld Follies of 1927 was a two-act musical revue that opened on August 16, 1927, at the New Amsterdam Theatre and ran for 167 performances. This edition, produced by Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr., starred Eddie Cantor and included performances by Ruth Etting and The Brox Sisters, with music by Irving Berlin and Maurice Levi. The show was also associated with the opening of the lavish Ziegfeld Theatre that same year. • Featured performers: Ruth Etting, Andrew Tombes, Claire Luce, Irene Delroy, and The Brox Sisters • Music: Irving Berlin, Maurice Levi, and Raymond Hubbell The measurements of this blanket are 60 inches in width and 81 inches in length. The photos show it on my vintage waterfall-style Art Deco bed, which is a full-size bed, which should give you an idea of its size. Great for any vintage lover! This vintage-themed blanket would be great as a fabulous and fun cover-up for your bed, a snuggle blanket for the couch, or your own personal reading blanket in your cozy chair.
