Vintage 1921 Ziegfeld Follies Sheet Music, Matted Art Deco Print

The “Ziegfeld Follies” was a series of elaborate theatrical revue productions on Broadway in New York City from 1907 through 1931, with renewals in 1934 and 1936. The were inspired by the Folies Bergère of Paris, and the Ziegfeld Follies were conceived and mounted by Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. They became a radio program in 1932 and 1936 as The Ziegfeld Follies of the Air. This is a 16 x 20 inch professionally done, custom triple-matted “Bring Back My Blushing Rose,” sheet music from the Ziegfeld Follies of 1921. The front cover features the iconic image of a lovely Art Deco illustration of a Gatsby, Flapper-style woman holding a bird. It is just beautiful! Ziegfeld Jr.’s 15th Annual Production, Ziegfeld Follies of 1921,” staged under the direction of Edward Royce. The back cover features another song from the music publisher (see photos). This matted sheet music will arrive to you ready to place into your standard-sized, 16 x 20 inch frame. The photos I’ve taken show how your print looks in the triple mat, as it will reach you, and an example of how your matted print will look framed. This matted sheet music is in a hinged mat, backed by foam board, and is sitting in archival polyester picture corners. The music is set up to display as wall art, but it can be removed and played as well. The sheet music is entire and complete. The print is matted with quality, USA made mat board. It is attached with archival polypropylene mounting corners to quality foam board. The mat is hinged with linen hinging tape. Great for home, office, music room, or home theater room! • Mat dimensions: Width, 16 inches x Height, 20 inches; 35.5 cm x 45.7 cm • Sheet music dimensions: Width, 9 inches x Height, 12 inches • Mat color: Winter White (outer), Gold (middle), and Antique White (inner) This is an ORIGINAL, RARE vintage piece of sheet music, not a reprint or reproduction Since it is now almost 100 years-old it is not in mint condition, and I will note here observations I see. This copy is in fair vintage condition; the cover colors remain bright and lovely, with the patina of age on the creamy white of the background. The front cover has a stamped “Price 40 cents Net” on it, which I assume was placed there by the original retail store it was sold from. The cover has a ¾ inch horizontal tear on the left cover seam area. The cover has separated at the bottom, but is still connected. All the pages of music are there and still attached. There is smudging, spots, creases and crinkles on the cover. On the inside pages there is a missing edge at the bottom of one of the pages. The edges of the front and back covers, as well as the edges of the pages have some small tears, discoloration, and small parts of the paper are missing. It shows signs of usage on the edges. The inside pages show some yellowing on the edges of the pages, and also have a patina of age to them. Fortunately most of the wear is located on the edges of the page and therefore can easily go unseen and hidden away behind the border of the framing mat. The contents are usable, but fragile. Please view the photos I have posted, as they will give you the best idea of how it looks. I have taken additional close-up photos of the cover and sheet music, and can share them with you upon request.
