Vintage Homer Laughlin Oval Serving Bowl, Virginia Rose Pattern

This is a fabulous oval serving bowl crafted by the HOMER LAUGHLIN COMPANY, in the Virginia Rose pattern. The name is in honor of W. E. Wells’ granddaughter, Virginia Rose Wells. This pattern was produced from 1929 into the 1970s. The pattern is recognizable by its bouquets of pink, white and lavender flowers on a background of creamy winter white, platinum silver trim, and scalloped edges. They are must-haves for the discerning collector. It is stamped on the underside, HOMER LAUGHLIN, Made in USA, but I cannot read the code because it has worn off. The circa dates can be determined by the back stamps. I believe this bowl was made in the 1940s. MEASUREMENTS (approximately): • Length: 8 ¼ inches • Width: 5 ¾ inches • Height: 1 ¾ inches CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. The colors are vibrant and the platinum trim remains intact. There are no chips or cracks. The only issue to note is signs of wear on the underside of the bowl, but this is consistent with the age of the item and does not detract from its beauty or usability, but you decide for yourself after viewing the photos. This is a vintage item, which is now likely over 80 years old, and has been gently used. I have done my best to describe it, but it is possible that a small defect could have escaped my notice.
