Great for home decor, office, music room, dance studio, or home theater room! • Mat dimensions: Width, 14 inches x Height, 18 inches • Sheet music dimensions: Width, 9 inches x Height, 12 inches • Mat color: Winter White (outer), and Black (inner) This is an ORIGINAL, RARE vintage piece of sheet music, not a reprint or reproduction Since it is now over 85 years-old it is not in mint condition, and I will note here observations I see. This copy is in good vintage condition; the cover colors remain bright and lovely. It shows minor wear, scuffing, some minor crinkles, with some slight signs of usage on the edges. On the front cover there is a name: “Mary Walton” at the top right corner. The back cover shows some wear and discoloration at the crease where the music bends and is attached. The edges of the front and back covers, as well as the edges of the pages have some small tears, discoloration, and small parts of the paper are missing. It shows signs of usage on the edges. The inside pages show some yellowing on the edges of the pages, and also have a patina of age to them. The sheet music is usable and all the pages are still attached. Fortunately most of the wear is located on the edges of the page and therefore can easily go unseen and hidden away behind the border of the framing mat. Please view the photos I have posted, as they will give you the best idea of how it looks . I have taken additional close-up photos of the cover and sheet music, and can share them with you upon request. B. Harms Company, New York, 5-page piece of sheet music “Flying Down to Rio” is a 1933 American pre-Code RKO musical film noted for being the first screen pairing of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, although Dolores del Río and Gene Raymond received top billing and the leading roles. Among the featured players Franklin Pangborn and Eric Blore are notable. The songs in the film were written by Vincent Youmans (music) and Gus Kahn and Edward Eliscu (lyrics), with musical direction and additional music by Max Steiner. This is the only film in which screen veteran Rogers was billed above famed Broadway dancer Astaire. The black-and-white film (later computer-colorized) was directed by Thornton Freeland and produced by Merian C. Cooper and Lou Brock. The screenplay was written by Erwin S. Gelsey, H.W. Hanemann and Cyril Hume, based on a story by Lou Brock and a play by Anne Caldwell. Linwood Dunn did the special effects for the celebrated airplane-wing-dance sequence at the end of the film. All the songs in “Flying Down to Rio” were written by Vincent Youmans (music) and Gus Kahn and Edward Eliscu (lyrics). The dance director was Dave Gould, assisted by Hermes Pan, who went on to be Astaire's primary choreographer. • "Flying Down to Rio" – sung by Fred Astaire, danced by Ginger Rogers and the chorus • "Music Makes Me" – sung by Ginger Rogers, some general dancing • "Orchids in Moonlight" – sung by Raul Roulien, danced (a bit) by Fred Astaire and Dolores del Rio; this became a popular tango song • "Carioca" – sung by Alice Gentle, Movita Castaneda and Etta Moten, danced by Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and the chorus; this is notable for being Astaire and Rogers' first dance together; they dance with their foreheads touching.
