Spanning back to more than 1-million years ago, Humans have been rubbing animal fats on their skin since we first discovered fire. Our simple formula consists of only 2-natural ingredients, 99% Tallow and 1% Babassu Oil. This cream is majority Tallow based that comes in a glass jar to avoid use of plastic, a over-complicated ingredients list and keeping it as close to what our ancestors used. Why is halal relevant, even if your not a Muslim? - We have many customers across the UK who choose to shop Halal, even though they are not Muslim. This is because halal prohibits the use of growth hormones or antibiotics used on the cattle, to which many people agree with, whether they are Muslim or not. Although grass-fed is an important point for when purchasing tallow, it doesn’t necessarily eliminate the use of these hidden growth hormones or antibiotics from being used and making their way into your tallow. Thankfully, our tallow is 100% grass-fed and halal certified, avoiding this very issue. We use Suet for our tallow not Trim Fat. Suet is the type of fat that may share a similar composition to human sebum and contain essential Fatty Acids and fat soluable vitamins, whereas trim fat, also known as Subcutaneous Fat doesn’t. Why Babassu Oil? - Babassu oil is a Non-Comedogenic odourless plant based oil extracted from the seeds of Babassu Palm which is commonly used as an emollient in skincare, which may contribute to softer, smoother skin with increased plumpness and plenty of moisture. Without an emollient present in the formula, such as Babassu Oil, tallow will gradually turn into a hard fat, which is its orginal state. We have added this into our formula as it allows for a smoother texture.
